OMG 2 Trailer: Akshay Kumar and Pankaj In the movie Tripathi, Akshay's character congratulates Tripathi for his fight as Tripathi struggles with his son's school and court.
The trailer of OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi was released online on Thursday. The three-minute trailer reveals the story of Tripathi's character, who decides to sue his son's school after his son's video is released on the internet and he is expelled from the school. As his son struggles to deal with his stigma, Tripathi's character prays to God to solve the problem and Akshay's character emerges from the Ganges.
In the opening of the trailer, it is emphasized that Akshay is not playing the role of Lord Shiva, but a messenger of God. It seems that this was probably one of the CBFC directives as it was not the case in OMG which had Akshay as Lord Krishna. As in the previous film, where Paresh Rawal filed his case in the court, here too Tripathi's character fights for himself and his son.
9 days are left for the release of this movie but the makers have not done any promotional work so far. OMG 2 was mired in controversy even before its release. There is a lot of speculation about the film's censor clearance and reports suggest that the film has been referred to the Censor Board's Film Certification Review Committee. It has been reported that this film deals with religion and considering the current political climate, it was considered a sensitive film.
OMG 2 received an A (Adult) certificate and the board gave the makers a list of changes to implement before the film's release. The list of changes proposed by the CBFC includes the removal of frontal nudity, modified images of "unnatural sexual imagery" and references to real locations such as Ujjain. In this list, manufacturers were asked to remove condom advertising posters.
The film was controversial as Mahakaleshwar temple priest Mahesh Sharma demanded that scenes shot in the temple be removed from the film. He told ANI, “The censor board has given Oh My God 2 an A certificate.
