ATLANTA – The Atlanta community lost a dear voice in the entertainment world as radio personality Wanda Smith passed away Saturday, just one day after celebrating her birthday. Confirmation of the sad news came from Rick Caffey, Senior Vice President and Market Manager of V-103 radio.

Tribute from V-103 Radio

In a deep emotional post on Instagram, Caffey shared the station's grief saying, "Our hearts weigh heavier today, grieving the loss of our beloved Wanda Smith, who always made us smile and was a big part of V-103 for many years. We reach out to her family with our deepest prayers and condolences."

A Legacy in Radio: More Than Two Decades with V-103

A highly visible voice of Atlanta radio, Wanda Smith has cohosted the highly rated "Frank and Wanda in the Morning" show on V-103 (formerly WVEE-FM) since 1998. She cohosted for over two decades, only stepping aside from the program briefly in 2013. Smith returned to the show in 2014 as cohost with Ryan Cameron, where she remained until her 2019 departure.

Comedic Talent and Contributions to TV and Film

Apart from being a successful radio personality, Wanda Smith was an up-and-coming comedy star. She was a writer on the legendary television shows "Def Comedy Jam" and BET's "ComicView." She constantly performed at Atlanta Comedy Theater in Norcross and did guest spots in several movies, including Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail and Madea's Witness Protection.

Family Survives; Many Remember

Wanda Smith leaves behind her husband, LaMorvis Sellers, and three children. Atlanta's entertainment scene and everyone she has touched will miss her happy and bubbly personality, as much as many fans will miss hearing her voice on the radio.
