Deadly Shooting Rampage Claims Four Lives in Birmingham Entertainment District

In a devastating incident that unfolded Saturday night in Birmingham, Alabama, at least four lives were tragically lost, and over a dozen people sustained injuries following a shooting spree in a bustling entertainment district. As of Sunday, authorities were actively searching for those involved in the attack.

According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, three victims—a woman and two men—were pronounced dead at the scene, with a fourth victim succumbing to injuries later at a nearby hospital. Emergency responders transported some of the wounded for treatment, while others arrived at hospitals on their own, seeking urgent care.

Fitzgerald revealed that multiple shooters appeared to have fired into the crowd, though it remains unclear if they were on foot or in vehicles. The attack, he noted, did not seem to be a random act, and investigators were working to identify the intended target. At this time, no suspects have been apprehended.

"We are fully committed to doing everything within our power to identify, track down, and bring to justice those responsible for this horrific attack on our community," Fitzgerald stated.

$5,000 Reward Offered for Information on Birmingham Shooting Suspects

Officer Truman Fitzgerald called on anyone who was present in the Five Points South area during the shooting to come forward with information. He emphasized that tips leading to an arrest could earn a reward of up to $5,000.

“There’s no better asset than the public,” Fitzgerald stated. “If you were in the area, if you saw or heard anything, we urge you to contact the authorities.”

The Birmingham police announced that both the ATF and FBI have joined the investigation to help track down those responsible.

“These mass shootings reflect more on cultural issues than just criminal behavior,” Fitzgerald added. “Too many disputes are being resolved with gunfire.”
