Insights from Chase Stokes, Drew Starkey, and More

Outer Banks season 4 hits the mid-season finale as the show's stars, including Rudy Pankow, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, and Carlacia Grant, explain where their characters are after the series exploded at the close of episode five.

Just like any other season of the show, the latest installment of the show continues to bring jaw-dropping twists that have viewers begging for more, especially in the part-one finale. The fifth episode of this installment is titled "Albatross," and in it, the Pogues find themselves facing another sort of set-up for a wilder ride in the second half of the season.

From Outer Gold to Treasure Hunts: Recap of the Travels of the Pogues

Part one follows 18 months after the Pogues have returned from finding the City of El Dorado. Their wealth from the gold is fleeting, mostly to JJ's shady financial decisions. JJ, played by Rudy Pankow, blows a fortune trying to regain his family home only to end up and his mates in quite a similar position.

Kiara, however, is JJ's biggest supporter despite his wild ways. "She sees him in ways he doesn't even see himself," Bailey says about Kiara and her blind loyalty for JJ.

The Mystery of Blackbeard's Treasure

Meanwhile, John B (Chase Stokes) and Pope (Jonathan Daviss) find themselves drawn into another treasure hunt, this time going for Blackbeard's secret blue crown. But they are not alone in the chase. A ruthless mercenary named Lightner and his boss Dalia are also on the lookout, and that brings another set of perilous confrontations into their lives.

At one climactic moment, John B just can't pull the trigger on Lightner, haunted by memories of his father's violent ways. "He sees his father in himself and questions whether he's becoming what he swore he never would," Stokes shares about his character's internal struggle.

Relationship in the Spotlight

The romantic story has been played out, just like the action, with the relationship Pope and Cleo have defined a season. Their romance, which blossomed during season three, is still in full bloom. About developing the relationship, Jonathan Daviss says: "It really let us get deeper into their dynamic this season.".

Similarly, Rafe (Drew Starkey) is in introspection, too, trying to make up for his sister Sarah. "Losing his father has thrust Rafe to maturity," Starkey says, a certain implication that maybe his character is reaching out for relationships torn apart.

What's in Store for the Pogues?

True to expectations, fans eagerly await the second half of the season. And the thing is, the Pogues' journey is far from being over- with love, treasure, and a full dosage of danger, Outer Banks season 4 is expected to be much more thrilling.
